A training course “Acting for a drug free life!” was hosted in Yerevan, Armenia by a German organization “Festival of friends e.V.” In January of 2008, 24 people from Germany, Austria, Moldova, Georgia, Lithuania and Armenia gathered together to prevent drug using in youth work and learn life skills such as communication, conflict resolution, teamwork and leadership through theatre methods.
Through acting out inner emotions participants learn how to handle these emotions and how to handle peculiar situations in life. During the training course several activities were used, such as: “Children of the basement” – a character model of personal styles that allows connection to one’s sub personalities, freeing them and in the process lead to a drug-free life; theatre games and expressive games, dance, rhythm and meditation and exchange of best practice how to prevent drugs in youth work.
