About us

Culture center “In Actio” was founded in May 2006 and it is non-government, non-political, non-religious organization based in Lithuania. Our organization focuses on the involvement and initiatives of young people to social life. “In Actio” target group is all young and active people, especially with less opportunities.

The key object is to develop a responsibility, initiative and motivation of young, creative and active people in Lithuania, to promote Human Rights through social and art projects, stimulate international cooperation. Other our tasks are with help of international projects to promote intercultural learning, better understanding and respect for human rights.


Culture center “In Actio” structure is based on three main subdivisions:

International

  • Cooperating with other organizations simulate projects on Human Rights topics;
  • With a help of networking organizations to increase youth work;
  • Simulate international cooperation through the youth organizations;
  • To show to Lithuanian youth European dimension in getting youth actively involved in shaping the future of understanding and tolerance.

Culture

  • To increase understanding of cultural diversity within and beyond the EU borders;
  • Make and promote art created by youth;
  • With a help of art and non-formal education to promote Human Rights.

Volunteering

  • Promote voluntary work between Lithuanian youth;
  • To help for youth to start their voluntary service in Lithuania and abroad.

Culture center “In Actio” is based on youth voluntary work in the organization that is managed by president and two vice presidents, which were selected by open conference of center members. At the moment organization has 65 active members and it is still open for new active and young people, especially with less opportunities.

With a help of board members young people has a possibility to express their selves in different kind of projects not only in Lithuania but also abroad, that we believe promotes mobility within and beyond the EU borders, non-formal learning and intercultural dialogue, and encourages the inclusion of all young people, regardless of their educational, social and cultural background.


Since 2009 Culture center “In Actio” joined Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures national network. It is an organisation shared and resourced by over forty Euro-Mediterranean countries, to bring people together as a way to promote dialogue between cultures and respect for diversity.
